OrderCatcher Team

Rich Geruson, interim Chief Executive Officer – As a CEO, a senior executive and a general manager, Rich Geruson has a track record for igniting rapid growth in companies from small start ups to Fortune 500 size corporations. He created rapid growth for Nokia Americas' handset business, IBM's worldwide networking business, Toshiba Americas' laptop business as well as for numerous Fortune clients while directing consulting projects at McKinsey & Company. Most recently, as CEO of a start-up company, Rich propelled the company into a high growth business and generated an exit value far in excess of the standards at the time.

At present Rich serves as an advisor and Board member to numerous companies where he has helped them achieve accelerated growth and very large valuations proven by actual "exits". In addition, he also advises the full range of institutional investors.

As CEO of VoiceSignal, Rich built the world leader in voice-enabled mobile solutions. Within a year and a half of Rich's arrival, VoiceSignal turned profitable. In less than 4 years, Rich increased shareholder value over 10-fold culminating in the sale of the business for a multiple of more than 12 times revenue at a time when multiples where 2 or 3 times revenue for this type of business.

As the Senior Vice President of Nokia Mobile Phones in the Americas, in less than 5 years, Rich grew the Americas handset business 10-fold to $6.5 billion and tripled its market share. This growth not only catapulted Nokia to the number 1 market share position in the United States but also, for the first time, the number 1 share position in the world. As a result Nokia's brand rose to the 5th most valuable brand in the world and became the number 1 non-US brand in the world.

Having started his career at IBM, Rich was hired a second to time into IBM's worldwide networking business and became one of the youngest Vice President/General Managers in its history. He stimulated rapid business growth for this otherwise stalling business by refocusing the business on a rationalized, yet newly reinvigorated, product line and by putting in place IBM's first distribution channels for networking products worldwide.

As Vice President at Toshiba Americas, Rich reversed a rapidly declining market share and then launched a set of new products that doubled market share in mobile PCs from 11% to 22%, taking the business from market share low of 5th place to the number 1 share position in less than 4 years. Rich has been awarded three graduate degrees from Oxford University including a Doctorate from the Sub-faculty of Economics.
